Here’s an unorthodox way to challenge your mind: Live in a psychedelic house complete with slanted floors, unpredictable walls, hidden light switches, and other hazards. Artists Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins conceived of the Reversible Destiny Lofts and actually developed 9 of these apartmentsts in a Tokyo suburb.
The purpose, from what I gather, is to keep aging residents on their toes by making everything disorienting and difficult.
My last post described recent research indicating that a stimulating living environment can improve learning and memory. Shusaku and Gins have really embraced this concept, translating the fanciest of enriched rat cages into a human-sized fun-house.

Pitty they all cost about $800,000. They’re in my neighborhood, and look neat, but man… I could buy a mansion around here for that.
